Governing Through Experience

One of the features that makes TCU Financial Group different from other financial institutions is our local leadership. The credit union is governed by an elected group of individuals known as the Board of Directors. These are members, just like you, who generously give of their time and energy to steer the present and help unfold the future. Every year, we hold an election and every adult member has the right to cast a vote for the Board of Directors. Members can also run for a seat on the Board if certain criteria is met.

Contact the Board

Members may write to the Board. Letters and emails addressed to the Board, or any of its Members, are reviewed by the Board Liaison to determine if a response from the Board is appropriate. While the Board oversees Management, it does not participate in the day-to-day operations of TCU Financial Group and is not normally in the best position to respond to these types of matters.

The Board has instructed the Board Liaison to review all correspondence and in consultation with the Board Chair, forward items they feel are appropriate for consideration by the Board.

All inquiries will receive a response from either the Board Liaison, Management or the Board Chair, where appropriate. A log is maintained of all correspondence sent to Board Members. Board Members may review the log at any time and request copies of any correspondence received.

Stephanie Mansfield - Chair Expand/Collapse

Board Member Since: 2013

Stephanie has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources. After beginning her career in the banking industry, she moved on to become a civilian employee of the Regina Police Service. She started in the Communications Centre as a 9-1-1 Operator/Police Dispatcher and eventually moved into the Human Resources field. She is currently a Human Resource Consultant and is responsible for all human resource issues for a portfolio of both police officers and civilian employees.
Stephanie is married to Tom. They have three sons and two grandsons.

Board Member Since: 2006

During Tony’s 30-year career in education, he was a teacher in Prince Albert and Saskatoon, and a principal in Macklin.  He was also employed by the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation as an Executive Assistant for fifteen years. Following his superannuation in August 2002, he established AC Linner Consulting, focusing on educational consultant work.

Tony and his wife Donna have been TCU members since 1974.

Brendan serves as the director of Queen’s House Retreat & Renewal Centre located in Saskatoon. He spent 30 years as a teacher and administrator with the Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools and has degrees in arts, science, education and administration. He and his wife Louise share 4 children, 3 daughters-in-law, a son-in-law and 4 grandchildren! Brendan is involved in numerous community activities and organizations and has been a lifelong member of the Credit Union.

I have been a member of TCU for as long as I have had a bank account. As a family we have worked with TCU from both a personal and small business standpoint.

I am currently employed at the Saskatchewan Health Authority as Director of Quality, Safety, and Logistics for Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Simply put my job is about ensuring patients get the best service from the lab that we can possibly provide. It requires strategic thinking, regulatory compliance, and working with a team of fabulously talented individuals. I truly believe that the work we do makes a positive impact to patient health care, which is important to me.

I loved school and earned a BSc in Microbiology, MSc in Anatomy and Cell Biology, and an MBA from the University of Saskatchewan. Reading, seminars, and extracurricular courses continue to feed my drive to learn new things.

I would love the opportunity to learn more about TCU and the needs of other members. I want to contribute to our community and make a positive impact on our financial health as well.

Reagan Lowe Expand/Collapse

Reagan is the Director of People Services for the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL)—the not-for-profit corporation that operates Evraz Place. She has been with REAL since 2013.

Reagan has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and feels privileged to have spent her career in Human Resources. She has held a variety of roles including responsibilities for staffing, representative workforce, compensation & benefits, and employee and labour relations. Reagan’s professional journey has led her to a variety of industries such as health, municipal and provincial government, education and gaming.

Reagan is married with two daughters and two grandchildren.

Darcy McLean Expand/Collapse

Darcy graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. Following 14 years with Cover-All Building Systems, he works with Norseman Structures as VP of Construction, a role he has held since Norseman purchased Cover-All Building Systems in May 2010.

Angela Prokop Expand/Collapse

Growing up in small town Saskatchewan, Angela is very familiar with the vision and values of credit unions and her first bank account was a Fat Cat account!  Angela convocated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Administration in 2001.  Following graduation, Angela enrolled in the CASB program while working at Virtus Group in Regina. 

In 2003, Angela accepted a position with Ashton Chartered accountants in Hay River, NWT and finished her CA designation.  In 2005, Angela accepted a position with Deloitte in Bermuda.  After her initial contract with Deloitte, Angela accepted a role with Lancashire Insurance Company also in Bermuda where she stayed until 2011.  After moving back to Canada, Angela worked for the Government of Saskatchewan in the Provincial Comptrollers Office before accepting a role at Harvard Broadcasting in 2012.  Angela is now the Director of Finance for Harvard Broadcasting and is responsible for overseeing all financial details for 13 radio stations across Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Angela married her husband Mitch in 2016 and together have grown a real estate investment business, which lead them to TCU Financial.  When not working, Angela spends much of her spare time travelling or at their cottage which was purchased with the help of TCU Financial.

Tracie Risling Expand/Collapse

Board Member since: 2019

Tracie Risling RN, PhD is an Associate Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan with a practice background in pediatrics. She began her nursing education career at Saskatchewan Polytechnic and spent five years there before moving to the university in 2010. Tracie partners with patients and community organizations to research how technology can be used to support better health for all.

Married to Derek for more than 20 years and raising two sons, TCU has been an important part of this busy family life beginning many years ago with the purchase of their first home.

Steve Tunison Expand/Collapse

Board Member Since: 2013

Steve received his MBA in 1997 and is also a certified management consultant with experience in the credit union system and with one of Canada’s largest banks.  Over the past 18 years, Steve has held a number of management roles in the areas of marketing, product management, business development and sales. Steve is currently the Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Planning for SaskGaming.

Steve and his wife, Jillian, have been TCU Financial Group members since the early 90’s. In his spare time, Steve likes to volunteer in the community. 

Earl Warwick Expand/Collapse

Board Member Since: 2003

Earl received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1992.  Employed shortly thereafter by Imperial Oil, he received his Certified Management Accountant designation in 1994.  Since then, Earl has also worked for Viterra and Marsollier Petroleum Ltd., but is now on a new venture as Director of Finance for the Saskatoon Police Service.

Married in 1991, Earl’s wife Patricia introduced him to TCU that year.  Earl and Patricia have two children. Earl’s interests include cycling, hiking, water sports and hunting.
