Receive Money with Autodeposit

The Autodeposit feature allows you to have money sent via Interac e-Transfer automatically deposited directly into your bank account, without having to answer a security question. The Autodeposit feature continues to provide the value of Interac e-Transfer, without the need to share financial information.

For senders, there is added convenience of not needing to convey security answers while continuing to have the security of knowing who is receiving the funds, prior to sending.

Online Banking set-up:

  1. Log in to online or mobile banking and navigate to Transfer Money on the left menu.
  2. Select "Send INTERAC e-Transfer"
  3. Select “Autodeposit” from the left hand side.
  4. Enter your email address and link your account. Any transfers to the registered email address will be automatically deposited into this account. You can register up to 5 different email addresses to direct funds into different TCU Financial Group accounts.
  5. You will receive an email to confirm your registration. Check your inbox and click “Complete Registration”. 

Mobile App set-up:

  1. Open the TCU Financial Group Mobile app.
  2. Select the INTERAC e-Transfer tile on the home screen of the app.
  3. Login if prompted.
  4. Select Settings (beside the gear icon near the top right).
  5. Enter your email address and link an account. Any transfers to the registered email address will be automatically deposited into this account.  You can register up to 5 different email addresses to direct funds into different TCU Financial Group accounts.
  6. You will receive an email to confirm your registration. Check your inbox and click “Complete Registration”

Autodeposit FAQs

Why do I have to consent to my name being associated with my account when I sign up for Autodeposit? Once you have registered for Autodeposit with, the name you used to create your profile within INTERAC e-Transfer settings will be displayed to anyone who sends you an e-transfer. INTERAC e-Transfer Select “Autodeposit” from the menu near the top of the page. Enter your email address and link your account. Any transfers to the registered email address will be automatically deposited into this account. You can register up to 5 different email addresses to direct funds into different TCU accounts. You will receive an email to confirm your registration. Check your inbox and click “Complete Registration”.

If I sign up for Autodeposit, how will I know when I’ve received an INTERAC e-Transfer? You will receive a notification by email every time that you receive funds through the Autodeposit feature. This email will let you know that money has been deposited into your bank account and will provide any details associated with the transfer.

Is Autodeposit secure?  Yes, the Autodeposit feature of Interac e-Transfer has the same bank-grade security as is standard with the Interac e-Transfer service. Interac e-Transfer is one of the safest digital money transfer services in the world. When you send or request money using Interac e-Transfer, the money is transferred through the established and secure banking procedures that financial institutions have used for years to settle cheques, bank machine deposits and withdrawals. Money never travels by email or text - these are simply used to notify you that money was sent or requested, as well as provide instructions to deposit.

I am not receiving the Autodeposit registration verification email. What do I do?  If you have not received the Autodeposit verification email, first check your junk email folder. If you still can't find the notification, you will have to re-register for the feature through online banking or the mobile app.

I have registered for Autodeposit but I still receive Interac e-Transfer transactions that require me to manually deposit transfers by answering a Security Question & Answer. Why?  Not all financial institutions have the ability to send funds to registered contacts / recipients who have the Autodeposit feature turned on.

How do I deactivate my Autodeposit registration?  To deactivate an Autodeposit registration, simply go back into your Interac e-Transfer settings within your online or mobile banking and deactivate the Autodeposit feature. 

Is the Autodeposit registration permanent?  Autodeposit registrations are permanent as long as the registration is active. Autodeposit registrations might require periodic re-validations due to inactivity.
