Interac® e-Transfer is a convenient way to send or receive money online. With your computer or smart phone you can send money to anyone with an email address or smart phone and an account at a financial institution within Canada. There is no need to share any personal financial information. The process is simple, convenient and secure.

With Interac e-Transfer you can:

  • Send and receive money directly to and from your existing chequing or savings account.
  • Your personal information is secure - no exchange of address, phone number or account information is required.

  • FREE for Personal account holders
  • A non-refundable service fee of $1.50 will be charged to Business and Organization account for sending an e-Transfer
  • There is no fee to receive an e-Transfer
  • It can take up to 30 minutes for the recipient to receive notification that money has been sent


The following limits for sending e-Transfers apply:

Daily $3,000
Weekly (rolling 7 days) $10,000
Monthly (rolling 31 days) $20,000

With Interac e-Transfers, your money never actually travels by email or text. These are only used to notify the recipient and to provide them with instructions on how to deposit money. TCU and your recipient’s financial institution transfer funds using established and secure banking procedures.

Login to Online Banking through your computer or smart phone and select the ‘Transfer Money’ tab. From here you can go through the quick and easy steps to send an Interac e-Transfer.

How do I receive an e-Transfer? Expand/Collapse

You will receive an email or text message with simple instructions that will show you how to deposit the money into your account.

Can I send an e-Transfer from my line of credit? Expand/Collapse

Unfortunately, e-Transfers can't be sent directly from a line of credit. Funds should be transferred from the line of credit to a chequing or savings account and then the e-Transfer can be made from that account.
