Community Donations and Sponsorships

TCU Financial Group isn't just another financial institution - we work directly with our employees and members to create a better place to live. We try our best to provide help and support to organizations in each area where we do business. It's a philosophy we've lived by since day one. When we opened our first branch in 1952, we made a commitment to stand by the communities we serve. Nothing has changed in the years we've been in business.

TCU Financial Group has been working with the community for decades. We believe strongly in giving back to the neighborhoods that support us. It is our intent to continue these partnerships to build stronger communities and to provide the best possible activities for our children and families.

This guide is designed to provide you with the necessary information to help us work together to create the best programs, sponsorships and events possible.

Community Involvement

Cash donations, sponsorships, and volunteer activities are all part of giving back to the community.   For TCU Financial Group, investing in our community is both a responsibility and a privilege.

Sponsorship Guidelines

Requests for donations or sponsorships are evaluated under the following guidelines:

  • Is the event going to attract new business to the community?
     
  • Will the event be held, or will the money be spent, in Saskatoon or Regina? Within this focus, is the project designed to reach a maximum number of people?
     
  • Does it provide economic value, improve the quality of life, or contribute to the social well-being of Saskatoon or Regina?
     
  • Does the club or organization conduct or intend to conduct business with TCU Financial Group? Are current staff members actively involved in this club or organization?
     
  • Does the event fall under one of the following areas: Culture, Charity, Arts, Recreation, Education or Sports?
     
  • Is the club or organization requesting a sponsorship or donation larger than $1,000? (Donation requests or management recommendations in excess of $1,000 will be reviewed annually on September 30th)

Other Considerations

  • If your group is unable to provide a non-profit organization registration number, closely follow the sponsorship request guidelines when requesting prizes or money.
     
  • You must make your request in writing or online at least two months prior to the event or project to be considered.
     
  • How will you provide space for TCU Financial Group recognition? (ie. logo placement on signage or event materials, etc.)
     

Criteria

  • All applicants must demonstrate fiscal responsibility and managerial competence and provide background information to support their request.
     
  • Preference will be given to initiatives that involve TCU staff, members, individuals, and organizations. Opportunities in which there is potential for a new business relationship with TCU will be considered.

Exclusions

Donations or sponsorships will not be made to the following:

  • Political groups or advocacy organizations whose causes may be publicly controversial.
     
  • Individuals or personal initiatives, with the exception of Co-op Youth Sponsorships and Grad Awards.
     
  • Events / organizations taking place outside of Regina or Saskatoon.
     

How to Apply

Requests for sponsorship should be made at least two months before your organization needs assistance. Requests for sponsorships or donations under $1,000 are reviewed monthly on the 15th of the month following receipt of your application.

Applications received in writing must include:

  • The name and address of the organization or group on the letterhead
  • A contact name, phone number, fax and e-mail
  • All sponsorship and event details: time, date, place, details of the sponsorship or event including articles, and any advertising arrangements
  • Indicate the value of the sponsorship for participation (ie. media exposure, advertising benefits, logo recognition, program ad, etc.)
  • List the amount of funds you are requesting and how the funds will be allocated
  • Please indicate what format graphics should be sent in (ie. JPEG, Bitmap, etc.)
